Terms of use

Last updated 17 August 2026

WPNewsroom (“we”, “us”) is a pre-launch product in private use with a small number of publishers. These terms are short because the arrangement is simple, and honest about the fact that the product is early.

What the service is

WPNewsroom reads a publisher's WordPress content and their Google Analytics traffic, and reports on what is being read: which stories are climbing, which older ones are moving again, and how publishing effort compares with traffic earned. It reports numbers. It does not make editorial decisions, and it is not a substitute for one.

Access

Access is by invitation while the product is pre-launch. Accounts are created by us or by an administrator at the publisher, and there is no public signup. We may end access, for any account or any publisher, with reasonable notice.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it.

Connecting Google Analytics

The product needs read access to one Google Analytics property, which you authorize through Google. By connecting it you confirm you are entitled to grant that access for the property you choose.

The access is read-only, and you can revoke it at any time without asking us. What we do with the data, and how to revoke it, is set out in the privacy policy.

Who owns what

Your content and your analytics data remain yours. We hold them to provide the service, and we claim no ownership of them. The reports we produce from them are yours to use however you like, inside your organisation or outside it.

The software, the design and the WPNewsroom name remain ours.

Fair use

Do not do these things with the service.

  • Connect a property you are not entitled to connect.
  • Share an account with someone who has not been given one.
  • Attempt to reach another publisher's data, or to break the checks that keep it separate.
  • Resell the product, or present it as your own.

What we do not promise

The product is early and it is candid about that. It runs on a schedule, it depends on Google's API and on your site staying reachable, and any of those can fail. There is no uptime guarantee, no support window, and no commitment that a feature you use today will look the same next month.

The numbers are collected and calculated in good faith, and the app explains its own arithmetic where it matters. They are still estimates drawn from a third party's measurements, and they should not be the only basis for a decision that matters commercially.

The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost revenue, arising from your use of it.

Fees

There is no charge during the pre-launch period. If that changes we will agree pricing with you in writing before anything is billed. No card is held, and nothing converts to a paid plan on its own.

Ending it

You can stop at any time: revoke the Google connection and tell us, and we will delete what we hold on the timetable in the privacy policy. We can also stop providing the service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your reports.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change we will update this page and change the date at the top, and we will email customers about anything material rather than leaving it here to be found.
